The #1 Thing Major Golf Ball Suppliers Don’t Want You To Know
Last week I told you that I was going to share with you the one thing that many golf ball suppliers don’t want you to know about. Do you know what that one thing is? False advertising.
Let me ask. Have you ever purchased a box or sleeve of golf balls because you saw an advertisement (this includes online, on TV, in a magazine, or even at the store)? Or maybe you’ve considered spending more on a box of balls because you thought the higher price tag would mean better performance and in turn mean a better score for you? If you can say yes to any of that then you’re a victim. Let me explain.
Revolutionary Golf was founded on the idea of revolutionizing the way golfers select and purchase golf balls. I founded it on this concept because the majority of golfers are losing strokes to balls that just don’t work for them. Bridgestone did a study and found that seven out of ten golfers are using the wrong golf balls. So why does using the “correct” golf ball matter so much?
Well not only can using the correct golf ball save you money if you’re already using a more expensive golf ball but it can also save your score as well. It was not very long ago that I spoke with a fellow golfer who told me about his experiences with getting fit for golf balls. He told me how he and his father were fit down in Florida at a place called Golf Galaxy. There was a small fee involved but basically they both hit on a trackman and they receive a custom ball fitting with a list of every golf ball they should be using. The ball fitting did wonders, in fact you can find the testimonial from one of the golfers on my landing page. Here it is:
"After playing the same golf ball for many years I finally decided to try another ball based on a recommendation/fitting that I received. I noticed a major difference in the first round! I gained distance and control on all of my clubs. Pitch and chip shots had always been my achilles heal, but the new ball was more consistent and gave me confidence in my game. As a result, my handicap went from a 13 to a 5 by the end of the season. I'm now playing the best golf of my life, at age 63!"
-Bill (Rhode Island)
That’s right. Bill was able to bring his handicap from a 13 to a 5 in just one season. Want to know a secret? The golf ball Bill had been playing previous to his fitting was a Titleist Prov1. After the fitting he switched to a Bridgestone e7 golf ball. So he went from paying nearly $50 per box to paying roughly $25 a box. That’s 50% less every time he purchased a box! If you run through one box a month you would save on average $300 over 12 months. That’s enough to buy yourself a brand new driver every season!
So clearly Bill understands the importance of being fit and using the correct ball consistently. My question now is: Do you?
